Still busy, and car insurance
Again I've been too busy to have time for a long post. But a quickie about car insurance. In the UK car insurance is mandatory and costs upwards of a thousand pounds for young male drivers. I heard recently that the EU had ruled it was discrimination to give women cheaper car insurance, so I hope this will lower my insurance premium in future. At least you can get a swift car insurance quote off the comparison sites - whose adverts we all hate - and find the cheapest. Still, my car insurance this year cost a lot of money I'd rather have. End of rant.

Yep, that sounds like how it is here in the states. It can sure get expensive fast.
ReplyDeleteI live in the states but in a state that makes car insurance compulsuary so i feel your pain.
ReplyDeletedamn crooks
Car insurance is a necessary evil. Doesn't make it any easier to pay, though.
ReplyDeleteMost states have compulsory car insurance. It's a pain, and ain't cheap. There is little pay off for when you need it, and the insurance companies know that. I tend to drive pretty carefully, and when I do have problems, I would rather call AAA.
ReplyDeleteCar insurance costs alot everywhere :/
ReplyDeleteThat's really expensive! my car insurance costs 400 euros
ReplyDeleteYeah, apparently when you turn 25, they mail you your maturity and your rates go down... At least, that's my understanding! Not cheap but cheaper than totaling your car and being stuck with the bill!!

Makes me want to ride my bike rather than pay what they charge young drivers.
ReplyDeleteI love public transport for this very reason.
ReplyDeletecar insurance is high everywhere in the world...
ReplyDeleteMy head hurts when I hear something about banks, insurances and sunch, I just dont wanna know anything about them!
ReplyDeleteIt's mandatory where I live as well, so I feel you. But you know, when some idiot rear-ends you, it suddenly becomes worth it...
ReplyDeletemandatory here in the states. Young males are also charged more. It was brought up once in class. My teacher is some snobby ultra-feminist. she said it was ok to charge males more because there were facts that prove males are more dangerous. Very hypocritical of here.
ReplyDeleteits the same as the states but i dout it will lower the costs for you it will most likely just raze the price for women lol
ReplyDeletehow is it discriminatory? i was almost hit by a woman driver today... and this happens frequently.
ReplyDeleteSo glad I dont have a car, so I dont have to buy Car Insurance!!!!

ReplyDeleteIn the UK car insurance is ridiculous. Often it costs more than the car itself.
ReplyDeleteequality went too far. don't women get into more accidents? maybe the major ones usually happens to male.
ReplyDeleteand once again, this is why i walk everywhere
ReplyDeleteBikes rule!!
ReplyDeleteyep car insurance is a necessary evil
ReplyDeleteThe state I live in here in the US (Alabama) requires auto insurance as well. I beleive most states are the same.
ReplyDeleteCar insurance is a pain in the ass in Portugal too, but what can we do...
ReplyDeleteSeeing all those bad women drivers makes me think that different insurance policies are well justified.
ReplyDeleteye those companies legaly steal from the people, and no1 does a thing about this
ReplyDeleteIt makes me want to buy bicycle...
ReplyDeletethat's so much! i get full coverage for $90 a month. my mom is best friends with our insurance agent
ReplyDeletecar insurance is a pain in the a**
ReplyDeletethere are some good car insurance here in USA, but they cost a fortune!
ReplyDeleteThis is why I ride a bike
ReplyDeletei live in the states but take advantage of a little known loophole that lets me post a bond with the secretary of transportation in my state, so i never have to pay for insurance again, the bond will cover any trouble i get into.
ReplyDeleteI hate the insurance. Quotes are never right too. My first insurer said £700 a year. I had to pay £80 per month...serious maths fail there.
ReplyDeletebus bro, take a bus : )
